Tender salmon fillets baked and glazed with a sweet honey, garlic, and soy sauce blend.

# What You Need:

→ Fish

01 - 4 skinless salmon fillets (6 oz each)
02 - 1 tbsp olive oil
03 - 1/2 tsp salt
04 - 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

→ Glaze

05 - 3 tbsp honey
06 - 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
07 - 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
08 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
09 - 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
10 - 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Garnish

11 - 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
12 - 1 lemon, cut into wedges

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
02 - Pat salmon fillets dry and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and ginger if using until combined.
04 - Brush or spoon half of the glaze evenly over each salmon fillet.
05 - Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
06 - Remove salmon from oven and immediately brush with remaining glaze.
07 - Sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro and serve with lemon wedges while hot.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It's genuinely fast, no complicated techniques or hours of prep to stress about.
  • The glaze is sweet and savory at the same time, so even people who think they don't like honey will be asking for seconds.
  • It somehow feels fancy enough for guests but simple enough that you won't be stuck in the kitchen the whole evening.
02 -
  • Don't skip drying the salmon, wet fillets steam instead of roasting and the glaze won't stick properly.
  • The glaze goes on twice because it burns a little if you put it all on before baking, but needs that final fresh coat to stay vibrant.
  • Remove the salmon the moment it's done, not a minute more, because carryover cooking keeps it cooking even after it's out of the oven.
03 -
  • If you want extra caramelization and a slight char, broil the finished salmon for 1 to 2 minutes right at the end, but watch it carefully.
  • Fresh lemon juice makes a noticeable difference over bottled, and it's worth squeezing the real thing.
