# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F.
02 - Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles. Arrange on a baking sheet in a single layer.
03 - Brush pita triangles with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika.
04 - Bake for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool.
05 - In a food processor, combine avocado, chickpeas, cilantro, parsley, tahini, olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
06 - Add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
07 - Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with extra olive oil and garnish with chopped herbs if desired. Serve with the freshly baked pita chips.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The avocado transforms ordinary hummus into something impossibly creamy without needing extra tahini or oil
  • It comes together in under 15 minutes but looks like you put way more effort into it
  • The pita chips are dangerously addictive on their own, but even better dipped in that green goodness
02 -
  • The water trick is real, it transforms hummus from dense and pasty to light and airy
  • This tastes best the day it is made because avocados do not love hanging around in the fridge
  • If you need to store it, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning
03 -
  • Use a perfectly ripe avocado, underripe will not blend smooth and overripe can taste grassy
  • Freeze your chickpeas for 20 minutes before blending for an extra creamy texture
  • Let the food processor run for a full minute after adding everything to get it truly silky
